It'd be nice to have a tool that digitized all the rollable tables from the DMG. I could roll loot, roll an NPC, or roll an adventure or city with a click. The random loot tables in the DMG seem pretty well-balanced by CR, and shouldn't result in characters that are too OP. One trick I've seen is to make a magic item only attunable to one person, and useless to others that might try to use it.

- Random Tables of the Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition Dungeon Master's Guide. By Mike Shea on 26 May 2015. The 5th Edition Dungeon Master's Guide is packed with useful information for your 5e Dungeons and Dragons game. One of its most useful features is the huge amount of random tables.
- Uses the tables from the Dungeon Master's Guide; Type is either Individual or Hoard. Specify the challenge rating. Count is the number of times the generation is repeated. Max value of 100. Verbose gems will generate type information for gems and jewelry. Item special features show up rarely. Weapon sentience is extremly rare.
- Inspired by r/OrkishBlade, here is a simple loot table to replace the Treasure Hoard tables in the DMG. The total gold acquired (including gold plus the value of the gems and art) is in same ballpark as the DMG. This doesn't include magic items. Simplifying those dozen tables into one would be quite a feat. The 1d6 Loot Table.
- Loot Generator. Uses the Tables from with the Dungeon Master's Guide (pages 133-149) to generate loot and horde tables. Treasure are based on a monster's challenge rating. Use these tables to randomly determine how much money an individual monster carries (the D&D equivalent of pocket change) or the amount of wealth found in a larger treasure.
- The Wintertodt's drop table was soon nerfed yet again due to player feedback on its still-generous reward table, primarily in seeds such as ranarr (the increased supply of which resulted in them crashing very fast). The new drops became based on the player's levels in the skills the items were related to.
